New Years and New Friends!
In the past New Years Eve has always been a let down… but not here in Tokyo Japan. I had one of the best New Years Eve’s ever! I met up with a Japanese friend of mine that I met in India and her friends. They took me out to an awesome restaurant and then followed by some crazy Japanese dance clubs. The night was filled with bottomless cups of sake, which went down as smooth as water and crazy dancing Japanese. I’m absolutely in love with Tokyo, and finding it great to be back. There’s no other place on earth like Tokyo. I could spend days just sitting people watching. Pretty much anything goes here… and some of the clothes that the Japanese wear are freaking crazy… I can’t wait to take my camera out and capture it on film. I guess it’s a good thing I like it soo much since im going to try living here for a year or so.
After 3 years of traveling im finally ready to try to settle down and stay in one place for more then a month. It has been truly a blessing to have been able to see all the places I have seen but im tired of being a tourist passing through countries. I’m now ready to live in a foreign country and try to learn the language and the culture. But unfortunately I can’t start now. I first have to get a work visa, which entails me flying to Canada where I can apply for the work visa… it’s a huge pain in the ass but I can use it as a reason to visit my family. So I will spend the next week or so getting things ready so when I come back it’s a much easier transition. Tomorrow im off to meet the Japanese Emperor… well sort of. Only two days a year the Japanese Emperor comes out into public so people can see him. So it should be an interesting experience. I hope everyone had a great New Years!
