Being where you are!
I’m finding that the one key ingredient in life is to be where you are totally. Most of us including myself are always wanting to be somewhere else; the present never seems good enough. The future always seems better, we say… “Well once I’m here or there or have this or that I will be happy”.
But I am finding it to be a never-ending game of chase. Once we get where or what we want, we always want more, we are never happy with what we have. So that said I think the best way to deal with it, is to be where you are, enjoy the now or present. I find myself back in Los Angeles, a place that I necessarily don’t want to be, but I am doing my best to enjoy my time while im here. After spending the last 4 years traveling the world exploring new places and cultures, one might think that there is nothing to explore in your home city. But I am finding that there are so many places in Los Angeles that I have not been to.
Today I set out to explore the Venice canals. It was built in 1905 to look like Venice Italy, but 1929 thanks to the great depression and the boom of the automobile, the canals were filled with dirt and turned into roads. Today all but a few canals are left, and the homes that surround the canals are worth millions. It was a beautiful sunny California day at the beach. Here are a few photos from the day, I also added a few old photos from the 1900’s.
