Welcome Home?
What does the word “Home” mean to you? I always thought it meant where you are from. But for example if you are sent to another city for a month for work, and you are out with friends at a bar, you might say I am heading back home… not to your “real” home but your temporary home. I guess it is true, “Home is where your heart is”. For me now, home is a place that just thinking about it brings a smile to my face, a place filled with great food and friendly warm faces.
Upon arrival into Canada I was quickly greeted by the long long immigration lines… the lines at Disney World are shorter then this! It didn’t take long to see that the Canadian citizen line had only 10 or 15 people in it. I then realized hey wait a minute… I’m Canadian… I have a Canadian passport. The immigration guy looked at my passport and said “Welcome Home”. It caught me off guard for a second, and then I said back… “Yeah… welcome home”. He probably thought I was crazy or something.
There really is something magical about Canada, maybe it’s the clean streets, fresh clean air, friendly people and not to mention the pristine lakes. So I find myself yet again in a place I can call “Home”. I feel I’m the luckiest guy in the world to be able to spend 6 weeks in paradise or better known as HOME!
