Most of you are probably already aware of what’s going on in Burma (Myanmar) but i thought i would take the time to say I’m glad to see what’s going on there! You might think “what is Jimmy crazy?”. I’m not glad to see people getting rapped and killed but what i am glad about, is this is exactly what Burma needed. It needed something of this magnitude to make the world news and open the eyes of the western world that tends to turn a blind eye. Please check out my friend Jacob’s organization The Freedom Campaign and see what you can do to help.

I find that i can travel all over the world and see all of its major sites… The Great Wall of China, The Pyramids of Egypt, The Lost City of Machu Picchu… and the list goes on. But one thing that i find that can beat all of those things… is what Mother Nature can whip up. The other day while i was lying on the beach here in the Perhentain Islands (Malaysia) working on my tan, mother nature created the most amazing storm i have ever seen…. “The Prefect Storm”. It went from beautiful blue skies, aqua blueish green water and pearly white clouds that looked like cotton candy to 5 minutes later where it looked like Armageddon was coming. I have never seen such dark skies in my life, I’m finding a lose of words to describe just how beautiful and yet frightening it was. Take a look at the photos and hopefully that will give you a better idea just how bad ass Mother Nature can be!

Over the last four years i have spent a good amount of time in Asia, and of course have heard the rumors of the cheap flights for less then $10. The thought of paying the equivalent of a happy meal to fly seems crazy and more importantly dangerous. I mean what kind of plane is it? They must be cutting cost somewhere…. maybe there’s no seats! South east Asia has a few of these low cost airlines trolling the Sky’s. I have never really looked into these flight as there has not been a need for me. Most of the time for me time is not really an issue and i can get to most places by land or boat once I’m here. But i recently found myself in a pinch, i wanted to go to Borneo which is an island and to far to go by boat. I saw a newspaper while in KL advertising flights from KL to Borneo for $20, at that price how could i say no. I logged onto airasia.com and found these so called cheap flights. I was amazed by all the places they fly to, the trick to getting these great deals is to book a month or so in advance. But of course everything i do is last second so i ended up paying $40 bucks with all taxes included… still a great deal. When was the last time you took a 2 hour flight for $40 dollars? Oh and for you that are wondering what the service was like etc… Air Asia is great not at all what i excepted for $40. The plane looked brand new and they even gave us a snack and drink for free unlike most of the airlines in the states which charge for everything.
So for any of you out there that are planning a trip to Asia and for that matter NOT planning because you thought it was too expensive…. i really recommend Air Asia, its an easy and cheap way for those who are on a budget and a tight schedule. Thanks to these low cost airlines I’m going to get a chance to go to the only country in Asia i haven’t been to yet.. the Philippine’s. Oh and you might be asking “why is Jimmy writing about this crap?” well for some people its useful. I tend to get a lot of emails from people and friends asking for advice on where to go and how to’s etc… So i decided to start writing about that stuff as well and include it under my “Travel Tips” category…. Don’t worry i will still be writing about my random adventures…. and with that said I’m off to find one… or let it find me!
